Approaching Storm, 30" x 38", oil/canvas (click to enlarge)
A hot and humid summer here in southern Ontario produces thunder storms, especially in the region from Windsor to London. The flat farm lands are swept with these dramatic "boomers" from April to October. In a departure from my recent trees, I have gone more atmospheric with this medium sized painting. It had a lot of revisions and took 3 months to complete. I'd guess there is at least 10 layers of paint on the canvas. I finally got the feeling I wanted with the last glazes.
